Lotusphere 2007: More and more Lotusphere 2007 posts on technorati…

What do you do at 5am in your hotel room when you can’t sleep due to jetlag? Well there’s wi-fi so I thought I’d catch up on feed reading and stopped by technorati.com for the latest and greatest on Lotusphere 2007. The number of posts are really picking up… Good thing we all use the same tag!

Lotusphere 2007: I’m in Orlando – how I wish my suitcase was here as well…

I flew in from Copenhagen via Atlanta but my suitcase never made it to the conveyor belts in Atlanta… πŸ™ After some quick shopping (t-shirt, shirt and socks) in Orlando airport I’m at an airport hotel before going to the resort tomorrow (Saturday).

If someone knows a shop in Orlando Intl. Airport that carries boxershorts please let me know… Good thing I always pack a share set of clothes in my carry-on.

Lotusphere 2007: I’m packing my bag and getting ready to go…

I wouldn’t think it possible but it seems like Bruce and Julian actually produced enough podcast material during the last week to entertain me all the way across the Atlantic to Orlando. Quite an effort! Combining Taking Notes with a couple of other podcasts where I’m a little behind should keep be enough to keep me inflight-entertainment-center free for the duration of the flight.

P.S.: Leaving in 21 hours…

Lotusphere 2007: Agenda booklet PDF – available?

Last year I found the agenda booklet you get at Lotushere on the web in PDF format. I printed this booklet beforehand and used it to prepare my schedule on the plane on the way to Orlando. I haven’t been able to find the PDF anywhere – does anyone know if it’s available anywhere?

P.S.: I know of Bens session database but with airport security being as it is, I don’t want to risk not being able to plan Lotusphere due to not having access to my laptop in-flight.

P.P.S.: Leaving for Orlando in 35 hours… πŸ˜‰

Lotusphere 2007: Finishing the presentation

Apart from reloading my laptop I’m spending a lot of time finishing of my Lotusphere 2007 presentation. It is hard to imagine that there are only 19 days until I leave for Orlando. Only the weather makes it easier to grasp as it is trying its best to be Orlando-like. We haven’t seen a snow flake yet and it’s 8-10 degrees celcius (50F) outside.

My presentation is done, but I’m still fiddling with the minute details of screenshots, which demos to include etc. I’m finding it a little hard to decide on the technical level for the presentation. How much can I assume the attendees know and how much do I have to explain? The crowd at Lotusphere 2006 seemed quite mixed – lot of hard core folks and some that only just knew their way around the Designer IDE. I’m leaning towards simply focusing on the subject at hand and assume that the attendees know the surrounding stuff.

It’s hard…

Any pointers from the more hard core presenters?

Lotusphere 2007: It’s official – I’m presenting a session!

I must admit I got very excited when I received an e-mail from Rocky the other day with a preliminary approval of one of my submitted Lotusphere sessions. The pulse rose another notch yesterday when the official confirmation appeared in my inbox.

I’m presenting “BP308: Leverage DXL and OOP to Build Powerful Tools”.

More sessions on blogging @ Lotusphere 2007

I have been thinking about the sessions on blogging at last years Lotusphere now as we are nearing the submission deadline for sessions for Lotusphere 2007. At Lotusphere 2006 we had two sessions on blogging:

The first one was a panel discussion on the more general aspects on blogging and how blogging can and will affect the enterprise. The latter was a Birds of a Feather and a relaxed discussion on blogging in general and was in essence a blogger meet-up. I only attended the latter session and my main reason for doing so was to meet my fellow bloggers however it seemed to me that there wasn’t enough time.

That got me thinking – should we have more than one BoF-style session on blogging or maybe simply a longer session? Maybe additional sessions or longer sessions should be held outside of the “official” Lotusphere conference since I guess there is a limit to how many sessions on blogging IBM will allow at Lotusphere. Considering the discussions that has been taking place in last few weeks in the blogosphere it could be that some face-to-face time would be nice and a chance to pick up some of the discussions (i.e. the nifty-fifty).

What do you think? If we need additional sessions, at least inside the scope of Lotusphere, we need to submit abstracts ASAP!
