The below screenshot should speak for itself but in case it doesn’t let me explain… Last night and tonight I have been writing a Twitter plug-in for the Notes 8 Standard sidebar. I got tired of using BeTwittered and really wanted a real Notes 8 sidebar plug-in as I have some other ideas I want to incorporate. Once I finalize the plug-in tomorrow and get it on an update site you can install it if you’re interested.
Initial features:
- Pure SWT application
- Integration with the Accounts API
- Preferences via Notes 8 Preference pages (auto refresh (yes/no), refresh interval, number of posts to show, refresh after posting).
- Shows the Twitter profile image of the poster.
- Posts to Twitter.
Very Cool!

Hey, Mikkel. That looks excellent. I too have given up on BeTwittered and gone back to using Snitter or Twhirl, so I’ll be interested to see how well your plug-in works.

If you want to, just send me the update site. I think there’s a public server we can use… 😉

Until now I think I have spent 12-15 hours. Besides needing a Twitter client for Notes 8 I’m going to use it to show of ways of doing stuff in sidebar plug-ins/composite applications so I’m going to spend more time than absolutely necessary.

Definitely need more friends – my mom always told me so! 🙂 As for the Sametime one I haven’t. Do you have a link?

Chris, if you already did the Notes id’s couldn’t you just create the update site database and then I could simply replicate it / update it on your server?

Ahh now I understand the question… 🙂 Nope – not yet but it’s Expeditor ready so I don’t see why it shouldn’t run there as well. The extension points are all the same. There could be something with the Account API but I don’t think so.

Will you be including the options to change the ‘twitter api’ url? For those of use who want to have ‘internal’ twitter clones running twitter standards like laconi.ca ?
Thanks would be interested in that.
