Connected Apps being fully deprecated in Spring 26

While this has been in progress for quite some time, it’s now becoming even more real. Starting with Spring 26 you need to have Support re-enable Connected App creation in your org. Below is what I received from Salesforce this morning:

Begin using External Client Apps (ECAs) for new integrations with your Salesforce Org instead of Connected Apps.

Note that after the Spring ’26 release, if technical limitations require you to create new Connected Apps, you must contact Support for help. Note that in subsequent releases, Salesforce Support will no longer be able to enable the creation of new connected apps.

While existing Connected Apps remain unaffected by this Spring ‘26 release, we encourage you to prepare for the End of Support for Connected Apps by inventorying your Connected Apps and Migrating Connected Apps to External Client Apps.
