I was quite surprised to receive this e-mail in my inbox today… I’m not amused! How can a person, and a bad speller at that, get at the mailing list for the newsletter?

Seems to me they just replied all. The usual reply should go to UserGroupInfo@LotusUserGroup.org, but the sender (Libby, apparently) left the recipient group in the To: field.
It probably should have been placed in the bcc: field. And on top of that, the group document should be locked down to at least keep Default from being able to use the group. But I’m sure they’ve figured this out by now! =)
You probably have the original message in a SPAM folder (that’s where my copy wound up) – this exercise in grammatical absurdity was a response to someone who did a “reply-all” to the newsletter. The newsletter, unfortunately, was not sent as a BCC, but rather directly addressed to the group. As for why the server allows non-authenticated users to send mail to its groups, I believe the admin in question is not a dedicated reader of Chris Linfoot’s excellent site. Heh….
