Saw this very nice – although very technincal – whitepaper on developerWorks on how Notes 8.5.3 has been optimized to reduce the number of transactions with the Domino server. A small little thing that I haven’t seen mentioned before but which can have a big impact on your environment and users. Probably shouldn’t be considered light reading.

In theory…
This does not correlate with our experience with Notes 8.5.3. It’s behaving noticeable slower than 8.5.2, especially when doing user lookups.

Interesting. We have an old 6.5 application that has one very large form with many fields.
We’re upgrading server this month to 8.5.3 but keeping clients back at 6.5.5.
If we upgrade the clients, do you think we’d see improvement of performance on the application/form?

Compare Server setup in the pdf with yours, you just may miss some significant performance enhancer (NLCache_Size perhaps)?
