I'm on The Taking Notes Podcast episode 122

On Friday Bruce and Julian let me on The Taking Notes podcast to talk about plug-in development and how to get started with plug-in development. We also talked a bit about the RedWiki we're writing. I think it's a pretty decent discussion about the topic and I hope it's a pleasant listen.

"Let's talk Eclipse plugins! It's not just an Eclipse thing, plugins can be used to extend the functionality of your Lotus Notes client.

Mikkel Heisterberg has been instrumental in helping developers wade through the murky waters of Lotus Notes sidebar app and plugin development for several years, through Lotusphere and user group presentations, blog articles, and onsite training. Bruce and Julian talked to him about how this plugin technology can be used and what's going to be in the new IBM Redbook he's been working on."

An interesting podcast from IT Conversations on the Zfone project which is the latest project from PGP creator Phil Zimmermann to encrypt VOIP calls over the internet. Worth a listen for sure.

SOA is dead - long live its offspring mashups, BPM, SaaS...

Was tuned in to this blog post ("SOA is Dead; Long Live Services" by Anne Thomas Manes) by a very interesting interview about the post on ITConversations. The podcast is definitely worth a listen and quite interesting. Quoting from the blog post:
"SOA met its demise on January 1, 2009, when it was wiped out by the catastrophic impact of the economic recession. SOA is survived by its offspring: mashups, BPM, SaaS, Cloud Computing, and all other architectural approaches that depend on "services"."

Sounds like something you realized without knowing it? The interview is very interesting and addresses, among other things, why SOA and governance is a concept and not something you buy. The podcast runs about 44 minutes and may be streamed or downloaded as MP3.

I do not consider myself a total nut job but I invite you and encourage you to listen to this episode of the Daily Source Code podcast for your start to the awakening. If nothing else it's an eye opener... Taste the red pill.

You might already know of this but I suggest you listen to the Windows Weekly podcast episode 56 and episode 57 for info on the upcoming Microsoft Mesh. In episode 57 there are comments about Lotus Notes and how Ray Ozzie took the thunder of Notes and brought it to Microsoft.
