As posted by Ed the day before yesterday (&lt;a href="http://edbrill.com/ebrill/edbrill.nsf/dx/shorter-path-to-notesdomino-8.5-certification"&gt;Shorter path to Notes/Domino 8.5 certification&lt;/a&gt;) the certification path for Notes/Domino 8.5 is being simplified from September 2011. I used to have a somewhat strained perception of certification but after &lt;a href="http://lekkimworld.com/2010/02/25/im_a_certified_lotus_connections_2_5_administrator.html"&gt;my own Lotus Connections&lt;/a&gt; certification I'm a firm believer. Certification makes you take the product seriously but I haven't always agreed with the required number of tests. This change makes me a happy camper! :-)

&lt;p&gt;
I have also within the last two months seen the level of expertise acquired by co-workers rise as they study for and take the exams. It is not as hard as it might seem.
