TwitNotes v2 beta 2 released

TwitNotes v2 beta 2 is now installable from my update site at http://update.lekkimworld.com/twitnotes2. Comments are more than welcome either here or via twitter as a reply to @lotustwitnotes. This release adds retweet support and fixes a date parsing issue for non-English clients. I also increased the number of tweets shown in the list from 20 to 100 and made sure direct messages are never deleted from the on-disk cache.

Known "issues" of the top of my head:

  • Need to figure out the best UI for the tweet list
  • Additional context actions needed?
  • Need to add retweet support
  • Need to add drag'n'drop support
  • Need to add LiveText integration

Please note: Although I use the client as my primary Twitter client it is a beta so please treat accordingly.

I have no "TwitNotes" under Preferences and no place to twit.

Do not open "TwitNotes2" in a new window and dock it agin - you get an error.

Michael,

just did the undock/dock thing without any error? Do you have a screenshot of the error or a stacktrace? As to the accounts you show - the are no longer used as basic auth has been deprecated.

Only happen when I dock before the undocked window is finish loading.

Installed OK, but each tweet is showing up one world per line. Example:

Add button brings up Input dialog with HelloWorld. Is that to add a tweet or to add a tweeter?

Wierd - everybody but mé experience that :-( The add button is to add a new 'column' to the dropdown list but pernantly instead of transiently as when clicking a username. Beta 3 is coming.

I installed Windows 7 and I do not see the same issues I see in XP. Seems XP has the issue of one word per line.

Thanks good to know. Issue was fixed this morning for all platforms so a new build will be coming.

I'd been longing for v2. But now I cannot install it. I tried to install it from "file/application/install" panel. Selected "search for new feature" and added the url "http://update.lekkimworld.com/twitnotes2/site.xml" by using "add new remote location". After that I checked the new location on the next panel, but the error happened. Error message is like this: plugin needs "com.ibm.rcp.swtex (6.2.2)" or the upper version. Could you please guide me the installation ?

Problem is that I didn't control my dependencies so for beta 2 you need 8.5.2 but that will be fixed for beta 3.
