I just realized that the performance regression mentioned earlier isn’t on the fix list of Notes/Domino 7.0.3 (release technote). This is really unfortunate since 7.0.3 is the last maintenance release for the 7.0.x codestream for a long time (for all I know anyway) since Notes/Domino 8.0 is Gold. This has been the story with previous releases anyway once a new major release has gone Gold.
This is worth keeping in mind when you decide on code releases. It’s a good reason for going to 8.0 anyway… 🙂
Are you confident that the bug doesn’t exist in 8?

Well nope – haven’t tested but I would think so though since much of the binaries in 8.0 is probably based on 7.0.2 or 7.0.1 with fixed applied. I’m thinking of asking Lotus Support but haven’t gotten around to it yet…

Well the bug does exist in 8.0 as described on the technote. I just didn’t read it thoughougly enough the first time (or it was updated – I don’t know).

Just tested the sample code provided in the technote, and on average it ran in like 0.35 seconds on 7.0.3.
My machine is pretty low spec (P4 1.6 GHz) and I would assume, that the test machine they used to record the numbers for the technote was much faster.
I do conclude, that the bug is fixed in 7.0.3, even if it is not explicitly mentioned in the fix list database.
